144hz monitor keeps going black

I just got this monitor and apparently everything works fine up to Hz.

144hz monitor keeps going black

But at Hz I get black screen during gaming. Also tried with a DP, same problem. Already installed the monitor driver and monitor display software. This is the second monitor with the same issue I get from Amazon, the first I returned back because I was sure the problem was the monitor but now, before return back this one, I would like to try to solve the problem.

Can you help me? The fact that both AWHF worked at Hz in Windows, but then failed inside the games, points to the games, not the monitor or drivers. You should go to the games support forums and post the issue and all of your hardware specifications. See what the game authors have to say. After that I tried again with Fortnite the game that I'm playing most of the time actually and it worked too BUT I had one black screen for a few seconds during the game when usually the black screens occurred many times and the game was unplayable.

What could be happened? Unfortunately I still have issues with this monitor, trying again with CS GO I have black screen and game in unplayable. For some reasons yesterday it worked fine even at Hz, FPS. At this point don't know what to do, other suggestions? No idea. From a hardware and driver point of view, it seems OK. Even when it works in game the image quality is pretty poor, you can see pixel during transition and movements.

I'm going to ask a refund to Amazon. I tried a DP cable instead of HDMI and, surprise, the monitor now works, no black screens occurred even during gaming. The image quality by the way is pretty poor, sometimes, completely random, the grid of pixel is visible during transitions in gaming.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.

Are you sure your monitor is connected to the nVidia videocard and not the integrated Intel videochip? Are you sure your videodriver for the nVidia videocard is installed and up to date? Its a displayport issue, probably related to the graphics driver somhow. The nvidia control panel is where the settings are made, so if its missing It is reached by going to the control panel icon then the nvidia control panel, not the programs menu under nvidia.

The control panel folder is completely missing from the nvidia corporation folder, meaning it hasn't been installed with the driver at all. Check if NVDisplay. NvContainer If it's not there try a clean install. Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 28 Feb, am. Posts: Start a New Discussion.

I downgraded my Crimson drivers to I first did a safe mode uninstall of the current drivers using DDU Display Driver uninstaller then installed the above drivers.

I haven't had the black screen since on a few games where I could recreate it at will. Just curious. I just remembered I did and one of the scripts used setx to set some environment variables in windows:.

I deleted them all, and so far the flicker is gone and only had 1 black out. Anyway still being cautious, but I think i found the issue for me at least Beautiful monitor when it worksMenu Menu. Search Everywhere Threads This forum This thread.

The monitor still works as i've quickly opened things when it's black, i just have no visuals, the monitor still says it's on with the blue light. I've got it directly connected to my pc and plugged into a 6-way connected to the main sockets in the house.

If it cannnot be resolved soon I will return it and ask for a full refund and get a different brand. While using the computer the whole screen goes black blank for a second or two at a time. If I am watching a video the audio will continue to play while the screen is blank. It goes blank at least once every 3 minutes, but can do it up to 10 times in one minute making the computer unusable. This started the first day I had the computer after a few hours of use.

I ended up restoring to initial settings and went to sleep and the next day day 2 the computer never messed up.

On day 3 today it worked great but after a few hours of use started up again with going blank randomly.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue by marking this post as " Accept as Solution ". This did not help the problem at all. It has blinked several times while typing this short response after doing what you said. The only thing that makes it stop is to reset the computer to initial factory settings and then the problem comes back after a few hours of use.

I have done that 3 times in 4 days and it is the only thing that gives a little break from the issue. The only programs I have installed are Mozilla Firefox and Itunes. I also chatted with a HP support person since this initial post and he took over my computer and tried all sorts of stuff for an hour and a half and nothing he did worked either.

All monitors come with a default refresh rate. We all know that the higher the refresh rate the better.

144hz monitor keeps going black

Thus gamers and tech enthusiasts all around the world are on the look for a high refresh rate monitor. Now, you will be glad to know that there are a few ways you can actually overclock your monitor.

Or simply put, you can increase the default refresh rate of your monitor even though your monitor manufacturer already sets a default value. In this post, we will be showing you how to overclock your Hz monitor with a few easy to follow step by step guides.

And by following the tutorials below, you will be able to unlock a higher refresh rate on almost any monitors. Disclaimer: Overclocking a monitor might impact your system negatively. In the worst-case scenario, your monitor or any other components on your PC might get damaged permanently. So, follow the tutorials below at your own risk. There are several ways you can overclock a monitor. Especially, it depends on your Windows and GPU driver software.

As a result, we will be sharing all the valid methods you can try to overclock your monitor. So, here we go…. There are many monitors that come with multiple refresh rate support.

Also, some come with default overclocking support as well. In those instances, you can try to see if your monitor does support overclocking or not by going to the display settings. And, sometimes, some monitors can be overclocked if you decrease the resolution. Now, if your monitor supports native overclocking, you can overclock your monitor by following Step 2 here. No need to lower the resolution at first. Also, some monitors have the overclocking settings in the OSD menu.

Thus, you have to access that by using the physical OSD buttons on your monitor. However, we will be covering all the variations here for you. At this moment, you have set up a custom profile with a custom refresh rate. To do that you can follow the Step 2 of the Method 1. If that is the case, then you can follow the next methods. Now, once you have selected the new refresh rate if it is availableyour monitor might blink. No need to worry, as your monitor will return to its previous state automatically after a few seconds.

Your monitor might blink or go black in that instance. You can decrease that to see if this works. For the record, if the new refresh rate is compatible with your monitor, it will not go black. In that case, it is referring to that it can handle the new refresh rate. With this step, your monitor will be overclocked.
